  2023-03-02

TLX may promote survival and prevent apoptosis in NB Curcumol [12]. Here, we ask whether the survival-promoting effects of TLX are mediated by Apoptosis Signal-regulating Kinase-1 (ASK1, MAP3K5). ASK1 is a member of the Mitogen-Activated Protein (MAP) kinase family and it preferentially activates t

  2023-03-02

To elucidate whether membrane fluidity changes could impact on signaling pathways, we examined the effects of Rh2 on the activation of Akt, a lipid raft-associated protein kinase, which promotes cell survival and blocks the apoptotic pathways. Upon pretreatment with 5 mM MβCD and in the absence of R

Previous studies have thus demonstrated that AR activation generally correlates with the promotion of urothelial carcinogenesis and cancer growth. In this article, we review available data suggesting their modulation through the AR pathway as well as correlations of AR signals with sensitivity to co

12/15LO, synaptic integrity, and memory Interestingly, several groups have found that 12/15LO directly modulates synaptic function. Normandin and colleagues reported that pharmacological inhibition of 12/15LO modulates rat hippocampal long-term depression (LTD), a process by which neuronal synapt

Inflammatory factors released by activated cells during AD are very important for the disease progression. Not only several inflammatory cytokines, such as IL-1β, IL-18, and IL-33, but also anti-inflammatory ones, as IL-10 and IL-13, are upregulated in the brain of AD patients (Morimoto et al., 2011

Imatinib was first approved for the treatment of Philadelphia chromosome positive chronic myelogenous leukemia in 2001 [25]. This first approved small molecule antagonist is quite unusual in that it provides a durable response that lasts for more than a decade in the majority of patients. Imatinib h

In summary, we identified a novel MLPH-ALK fusion in AST with discordant results of ALK IHC. In order not to overlook ALK-rearranged AST with rare fusion partners on IHC screening, a sensitive IHC method is preferable. Introduction Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer related deaths w

• Curcumin is able to upregulate the protein level

  2023-03-01

Curcumin is able to upregulate the protein level of NGF through cannabinoid receptor CB1, where the activation of Akt pathway probably plays an important part in the CB1-mediated signal transmission [9,10]. This finding suggested that the protection of curcumin in spinal motor neurons of SNI rats is

  2023-03-01

Cancers that responded to immune checkpoint inhibitors were shown to present a type I interferon (IFN) signature in the TME 33, 34. Type I IFNs positively regulate the expression of tumor antigens and their crosspresentation by DCs to tumoricidal CTLs. Furthermore, CD8+ T cell develops full effector

  2023-03-01

While HTPCs are not immune cells, they produce IL-6, MCP-1 and other immunologically relevant factors (Mayer et al., 2016). Our results demonstrated that epinephrine and phenylephrine increased the mRNA expression levels of COX-2, IL-6 and MCP-1 in HTPCs without affecting the mRNA expression level o

Elevated expression of Aurora-A and -B frequently detected in a wide variety of human cancers strongly indicate that high expression of these kinases play roles in the development of cancer associated phenotypes.
